In November 2011 I wrote a blog titled “Negate Post Exchange Nightmares”. In this blog I used as an example the story of Sharon Davies who within 48 hours of exchanging contracts on her new £1.1 million pound home in Bradford Upon Avon Wlitshire found out that a proposed planning application to build a care home neighbouring her boundary and been changed to incorporate a much larger scheme and building. She claims that the revised plans have a major negative impact on her property and outlook.

On 4th January 2012 the revised plans were agreed and passed by Wiltshire Council’s Planning Committee meaning that a 63 bed facility will be built instead of the originally proposed 42 bed facility increasing it height to four storeys..

Of course this isn’t good news for Ms Davies and the early reports suggest that she and some neighbours are considering an appeal based on the aesthetic negative impact the building will have on the local environment.

The councils argument being that the care home will give the community a local health facility.

It would appear that this story may run on and Elite will watch it closely to see what outcome prevails because if an appeal lodged by Ms Davies is upheld a precedent could be set.
